The day started with heavy rain fall, which can be the worst thing for a wedding. Luckily the rain stopped and although the Sun did not come out, it was a pleasant day for that time of year. It is always a risk when you get married outside of summer, but it looked like this couple just got it right.
When I arrived at the bridal suite, the girls were dancing and having a great time. It may have had something to do with the many empty bottles of champagne that were lying around. We spent about an hour with the girls, and were then thrown out as it was time for the bride to put on her dress.
We then got ourselves down stairs and into the ceremonial room. The ceremonial room being a large tent, was a challenge shoot in, as the LED lights in there create quite an effect. The ceremony went perfectly and before we knew it, it was time to get ready to shoot them walking back up the isle.
The photographs shoot was short, because the Mike and Sarah, preferred spending time with their friends, having fun. Luckily the photographer was great at encouraging them to do just a few more shots, and this made all the difference, as there would have been very little of this section of the video otherwise. The photographer was called Mark Byron Dowie and was actually a wedding photographer from Newcastle, but although he mainly worked in the North East of England, he was happy to travel.
The speeches were funny and also extremely emotional, and by the end, there was hardly a dry eye in the house. It was clear, that their children were very happy that they got married, and that they all felt a lot of love for each other.
All that was left was for the cutting of the cake and the first dance, and they both got started on time and with great enthusiasm from the guests. It was a fabulous wedding day, and I am sure that this couple will be happy for ever.
